The Foundation Stage children from Pocklington CE VC Infant School visited Uncleby Education Centre on 1st October 2013.
They spent a busy day on the farms experiencing a variety of activities which started with a visit from Catherine Inglis, a local pastel artist who demonstrated the painting of a Squirrel and an Owl.
They used all of their senses to complete an A-Z activity in the field near the Education centre and were also lucky to see a newly born calf in the cow shed.
While they ate their packed lunches on the veranda overlooking the farmland they were able to watch Simon giving a gun dog display.
After lunch all the children walked down Manor Farm Dale where they saw a badger’s set, the stream and a Bug Hotel.
Teachers Mrs Piggott & Mrs Richardson said “the children and staff have had a fabulous day. We feel extremely lucky to have such a great resource so near to our school. The fact that it is free for educational visits is an added bonus!!”
